Remember To Get Your Distance In

Whether you walk or run, you will burn about the same amount of calories as long as you get the distance in. Try taking advantage by getting as many steps as you can on campus and everywhere else you may go. It’s a great way to take a small break away from reality instead of sitting down and getting on your phone to pass the time. You can even visit a local park to where you can walk and take in some of the beautiful nature.

UWG also has some great extracurricular activities you can sign up to have a fun but heart-healthy time. The school offers rock climbing classes, intramural sports, and outdoor activities that you and your friends can sign up for. The school even has other fitness courses that can help you learn how to dance or play other sports with your fellow Wolfies. Just make sure you try something you like doing, you’re not going to want to continue doing something that you don’t like.

In order to continue staying active, you’re going to want to take care of your body first. Attending college can really mess up your sleeping schedule and diet which are key elements to dealing with stress. Believe it or not, staying up late and eating out all of the time can raise your stress levels if you’re not careful. That’s why it’s important that you stay proactive about your health in the following ways. Staying healthy can significantly help lower your anxiety levels and help you deal with stress as a college student.

Getting Enough Rest

A busy schedule can make it difficult for you to get enough sleep. But if you follow our advice on organizing your schedule, you will have plenty of time throughout the semester to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. That way, you don’t have to worry about feeling sleepy or having bags under your eyes the next day.

Keep Your Social Life Active

Keeping your social life active is the most important way to deal with stress as a college student. This includes calling and visiting home, making friends, and exploring what college has for you. All of the following things can help you take your mind off of the common struggles of college.
